Motivation Monday: The shape of instant food.

Searching for creative motivation or inspiration? Each Monday you can find all of the creative insight you need right here at Creative Something, with “Motivation Monday”.
To some, stored food is just stored food. To Zach Kowalczyk, stored food is a visual representation of “what food has become in our society of convenience and instant gratification.”
In his photo set “Food?”, Zach takes beautiful pictures of food that takes the shape of it’s container.
From frozen peas, corn, and broccoli, to spam, jello and even a Ramen cup of noodles, instant food has never looked so good.
Each photo is perfectly framed with brilliant color palettes and flawless lighting. The food item in each picture is highly detailed and makes you feel as if you could literally touch the item. But that’s not what makes these photos great.
The reason Zach’s photo set of instant food is creatively appealing isn’t because of the quality of photos, it’s that Zach was able to take an everyday item that most of us would never think to photograph, and made it into a visually and creatively stimulating object.
Take a look at all nine photos in the set to see what I mean.
Spam? Frozen peas? Raisins? I bet you didn’t think about photographing them like this.
What might be in your freezer at home that could inspire your creativity? Or what could be sitting next to you right now that could inspire your creativity?
